Displacement sensor as a motion control detection sensor and engineering machinery parts, technical processes, performance characteristics plays a vital role in or influence on the measurement accuracy, system stability. Based on the installation, monitoring and control of some key technical indicators or principles different from conventional displacement sensor including: an electronic scale, grating, magnetostrictive linear displacement sensor (magnetic feet, hereinafter the same), rope displacement sensors. From the application, selection point of view, the principles, characteristics, scope of four kinds of sensors, etc., will be briefly described and compared to, for acquaintance who introductions. 1.1 Advantages: electronic device relatively inexpensive, and low temperature properties, low torque operation, applicable to high speeds, is widely used in injection molding machines, fields woodworking machinery, textile machinery, printing, spraying, machine tools, robots and the like.
1.2 Limitations: mechanical contact measurement, wear more serious, somewhat less on life; and the high requirements for power supply, lower immunity or reliability of intolerance relatively harsh environments.
2.0 scale
2.1 Advantages: grating has a good environmental adaptability, no wear, impact resistance, anti-vibration, anti-magnetic interference, extremely long life; and the measurement accuracy and better stability in the modern automatic control system, such as machine tools processing, measuring instruments, are widely used.
2.2 Limitations: higher prices, higher demand installation, commissioning, maintenance and working environment.

3.1 Advantages: These sensors can be applied and harsh industrial environments, such as vulnerability to oil solution, dust or other contamination does not pose a problem. 3.2 Limitations: Compared to other sensors, the higher its price. At the same time, its detection, control theory is relatively advanced and complex.
4.0 rope displacement sensor (encoder rope)
4.1 Advantages: rope encoders use a hub structure, the linear displacement into angular displacement of rotating; reuse angular displacement encoder mature technologies and processes, to ensure measurement accuracy, stability and other parameters indicators of high-precision requirements. Easy to install, compact, without debugging features in the field of measurement and control of industrial automation, engineering machinery, etc., they have their own unique applications. Because of its high cost-effective products in a number of applications and can replace electronic scale grating.
4.2 Limitations: mainly limited spring constant resistance and service life of the rope (such as wear and breakage), especially in case of long distance use, difficult to adapt to the influence of vibration and shock, the measurement accuracy will decline.
