How is the Rotary Electric Encoder compared to a resolver?

The resolver is known for its mechanical ruggedness. The Electric Encoder is nearly asrugged, consisting of fiber‐reinforced, high‐temperature polymer components. Like theresolver it can be adapted for operation at 125°C and above and is greatly unaffected bycondensation and contaminants. Unlike the resolver, however, it includes the processing electronics on‐board and is DC in DC out . It is also more accurate and has awider servo bandwidth. From the commercial point of view , reducing the needs for R/D and peripheral  electronics  simplify the integration and lowering the overall cost
dramatically.
