The function of the linear displacement sensor is to convert the linear mechanical displacement into an electrical encoder signal.
Displacement sensor In order to achieve this effect, the variable resistance slide is usually set in the fixed part of the sensor, through the slide on the slide on the displacement to measure the different resistance. The sensor rails are connected to a steady-state DC voltage that allows a small current flowing through the micro amperes, and the voltage between the slider and the starting end is proportional to the length of the slider movement. Using the sensor as a voltage divider minimizes the accuracy of the total resistance of the slide rail, since the change in resistance due to temperature changes does not affect the measurement results.
