Magnetic rotary encoder
Magnetic encoder essentially robust, in shock, vibration and high temperature reliable operation. Magnetic debris into the rotary magnetic encoder can reduce performance, but not other contaminants. Thus, the rotation of the magnetic encoder is often used instead of the optical encoder. In a rotor rotating code wheel or strip passive variable reluctance or magnetized strips are measured by either a Hall effect or magnetoresistive sensor sensitivity. The motor speed and position accuracy decide which of the two is more suitable for the application.
Magnetic rotary encoder can be used in high-volume applications small, inexpensive devices, such as automotive anti-lock braking system, or demanding motion control tasks, such as in the form of advanced industrial automation systems and medical equipment unit. Available change is gradual and absolute type; non-contact and bearing versions; and the sub-units are effectively separated in the rotary unit and the encoder body.
